Booking an Appointment
We offer both face to face and telephone appointments. Bilingual advocacy/interpretation services are available for patients who do not speak English. Please let one of our receptionists know that you will need an advocate/interpreter when booking an appointment and they will be happy to assist you in booking one in.
How To Book
- Patient Access/ Online Consultation
- The NHS App
- Call us on 02088838214
The Practice has introduced appointments that are bookable on the day and prebookable appointments in advance ( Usually within two weeks). These appointments can also be booked online.
Additionally, some appointments will be available to book on the day for acute/urgent medical problems.
All routine appointments with a doctor are for 10 minutes and it’s usually one problem per appointment. If your problem is too difficult for 10 minutes you can ask for a double appointment when you book.
Online Appointments
We have made available online appointments for the GPs and nurses.
Please ensure that you book into the appropriate slot, by reading the booking notes, when you log online.
Duty Doctor Service/ Telephone triage
For patients with an urgent medical need, the Duty Doctor service is available Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) between the hours of 08:00 and 18:30. Patients will receive a call back from the Duty Doctor within 4 hours of contacting the surgery.
This service offers you quick access to your GP practice, where they know you and have your full medical record. We recommend this service instead of going to A&E at the hospital
- Phone the surgery and explain to the receptionist that you have an urgent problem
- Reception can then put you on the Duty Doctor list
- The Duty Doctor will review the list and will call those needing urgent care as soon as possible. Other patients on the list will be called back within 4 hours
- The Duty Doctor will decide with you what you need, which could be:
- Advice over the phone
- An appointment at the surgery
- A home visit if required
- A referral to another service
Queue Buster: Please note there is a call back option from the practice should you choose to be called back. Anyone waiting from the 11th postion in the queue can select to be called back by the practice. Should you select this option, the practice telephone will call you back automatically. You will not lose your position in the queue.
We recommend patients call the surgery after 10:00 for the following queries as you are less likely to wait longer in the queue.
These are the services we provide via telephone:
- Booking routine telephone appointments with a GP, pharmacists and nurses. (Please note if all pre-bookable appointments are fully booked, you may be asked to ring on the day). Pre-bookable appointments can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance
- Test result queries
- Booking appointments with the Nurse (face to face appointments)
- Prescription queries
- Referral queries
- Admin queries
Telephone Appointments
Please note that the telephone appointments are 10 minutes and the Dr will attempt to call twice. We recommend one problem per appointment.
Note: times for telephone consultations can only be approximate, as clinics can run late. The doctor will call you during the morning or afternoon session in which the call is booked.
Nursing Appointments
Patients can pre-book an appointment with the nurse for the following:
- Annual health checks such as diabetes, asthma, COPD reviews
- Immunisation for children
- Vaccination such as for flu, pneumococcal, shingles, pertussis, and more.
- Travel clinic ( Currently unavailable, for any travel vaccination please visit a travel clinic or pharmacy)
Face to Face Appointments
Please be assured that the practice has strict infection prevention control measures in place and should you require a face-to-face consultation with a clinician this can be arranged safely.
Face-to-face appointments with the doctors are usually booked by the clinician directly or a member of the team will contact you to book it for you. Your face-to-face appointments will be based at either of our branches. Please ensure you wear a face covering when attending the practice.
You are able to request a chaperone for any examination in the practice. Please speak to reception if you wish to do so.
Home Visits
Home visits are provided for those who are housebound if the doctor thinks it is medically necessary - if you do need a home visit, please contact the surgery earlier on the day, preferably before 11 AM.
We do not provide home visits for patients who live outside our catchment area.
